Hey there,
So you've probably noticed that the map has received a makeover recently. It has been brought to my attention that while the information displayed in this glow-up makes sense to me, the one who designed it, it can be a bit difficult for other people to decipher some of it. So, let's go over the changes!
Perfect example here, we'll break down each part of it.
#1 - System security
The first new thing you'll notice is that we're now showing the system security. This is to help both the militias, and the pirates, understand where corruption can spread to. "0.8" systems and above can not be corrupted.
#2 - Contested data
Next, I've changed how contested data is being displayed. I've separated it out from the system name and given it its own area.
- The top number is the systems contested amount
- The symbol in the middle is telling you which direction the contested amount has been trending over the last 24 hours
- The bottom number is the difference in the contested amount over the last 24 hours
- And lastly, the bar to the left is just a progress bar. 0-100% starting from the bottom.
#3 - Advantage data
Is finally visible on the nodes. I didn't like only having it in the table because it's not very user friendly to be looking in 2 places for information.
- The top number is the advantage for militia defending the system
- The middle number is the "sum advantage". I.E. the actual advantage being applied. Along with an arrow point at which militia has the advantage, because negative and postive numbers aren't always super obvious to understand
- The bottom number is the advantage for militia attacking the system
- And lastly again, the bar to the right is just a representation of each factions advantage, filling towards the middle from either end.
#4 - Edencom / Trig emblem
If the system is influenced by either faction, it now shows a big emblem with their symbol. This used to be shown with a colored border, but I've changed it to this so that in the future we can use a colored border for corrupted systems.
#5 - Pirate emblem
The idea with this symbol was to show where the pirate FOB
could spawn. So you'll see this on any FW system that has a temperate planet. However, as it turns out, there's quite a lot of candidates for that.... so it isn't super useful, and I may nuke it in the near future.
Well.... Thanks for coming to my TED talk. I'll likely be updating this window and shoving it in your face again in the future if we ever get access to corruption/supression data, but until then
